Keep your car looking, and running like new.

Have you just purchased a new car? Keep it looking and running like new by following the following tips:

    1. Don’t let your fuel run too low.

    low fuel

In order to keep your car’s fuel system healthy, try to avoid letting your car’s fuel run low.

Running low on fuel can cause a car’s fuel pump to suck in air. This will create excessive heat and increase the risk of the fuel pump failing. Dirt and other particles can build up in your vehicle’s fuel system and when the petrol runs low, it increases the risk of these particles becoming stuck in your fuel filter.

Don’t buy fuel from a station where the tanks are being refilled. This is because the refilling of the tanks can push sediments and water upwards, pumping the unwanted mixture straight into your vehicle.

Buy from high-volume sellers where the petrol is regularly refilled. Doing this will ensure that your car is filled with fresh fuel.

    2. Get your vehicle serviced.

Servicing of your vehicle can keep it running like new. This is because trained mechanics are able to recognise and fix problems before they cause more damage.

Book your vehicle in for an inspection if it is making strange noises, operating differently or encountering any other sort of problem. A mechanic will be usually able to identify the problem and fix it.

    3. Clean your car regularly.

Cleaning your car isn’t just about making it shine like new. It also helps prevent dirt damage.

Regular use of your car can create a buildup of salt, dirt and grime which can damage the vehicle’s paint job over time. When you clean your car, it removes this buildup, keeping the coating nice and consistent.

Cleaning your car also gives you a chance to examine the exterior components of the vehicle such as tyres, suspension, bumpers and lights.

    4. Keep your tyres correctly inflated.

Properly inflated tyres will keep your vehicle driving smoothly, increase fuel efficiency and reduce the risk of tyre damage. Consult your vehicle’s manual to find the ideal inflation levels.

    5. Change the oil often.

    Oil Change

Clean oil will keep your car running smoothly and significantly increase the lifespan of your engine. We recommend that you change your car’s oil with every 10,000 km of use.

    6. Park in the shade.

To preserve your car’s paint job and interior, it is important to park in shady areas, specifically in the summer. This will protect the paint and interior from fading due to direct exposure to UV rays.
