      Some jobs require us to raise the car on the hoist, or clean areas down, or remove parts and covers, or perform other tasks to do an inspection before we can determine and advise you of what needs fixing and price estimate.
      For these jobs we need to charge an inspection fee. Inspection fees are mainly based on time generally from 30 minutes to 1 hour, or $58 to $110 incl GST.
      If you proceed with the repair after the inspection then for larger jobs inspection fees can often be waived. If you don't proceed with the repair then inspection fees will be charged to you.

      A scan to read the faults codes is valued at $65 incl GST. This will give us a printout of the vehicles self diagnostics and is only a diagnostic starting point (not a repair solution).
      Another option you could consider is a Stage 1 diagnostic valued at $199 incl GST.
      This includes the "scan" and some time to try to diagnose/fix the fault. Many people like this option as if we can find and fix the fault during the stage 1 diagnostic (and there are no parts supplied) then $199 is all you would need to pay.
      If the stage 1 diagnostic shows there is a problem that will require additional parts and labour, then we will do an estimate for you and discuss the next steps.
      As an added bonus if we have pulled things apart to diagnose the issue, and you chose to go ahead with the repair while it is apart, then you will save the money on the disassembly labour.

      I understand that parts and services remain the property of Grimmer Motors 2015 Ltd until paid for in full, and interest, late payment and collection fees may be added to invoices.
      I understand I am liable for storage costs at $25 per day, 24 hours after I am informed that the car is ready to be uplifted if I do not return to uplift the vehicle or pay my account causing the vehicle is held on site.
      I understand that I/We give authority for Grimmer Motors 2015 Ltd to hold my personal information and authorise any person or company to provide Grimmer Motors with information to determine my whereabouts and my credit worthiness.
      By clicking "Submit" on this form you are agreeing for Grimmer Motors to send you Follow Up reminders for repair, maintenance or diagnostic items your vehicle requires, plus occasional newsletters and promotions via text or email.

      Courtesy Car Terms and Conditions

      • First 10km are free, then 50c/Km. This covers repairs, servicing, Rego’s, WOF’s, insurance and petrol.
      • Drivers must be over 21 and provide a FULL NZ drivers licence. This will be photocopied.
      • Car is only to be used within Hamilton city area, or within a 10 km radius from Grimmer Motors. (unless otherwise agreed and noted on this form).
      • No smoking, eating, drinking or pets are allowed in the car.
      • The Customer agrees to return the car on the ‘date agreed for return’, or on the day of notification your car is ready for collection. If this car is not delivered back by the time agreed and there has been no agreement from Grimmer Motors to extend the time period, then Grimmer Motors has the option to charge an additional $50 per day until the Courtesy Car is returned.
      • The Customer agrees to exercise all reasonable care and diligence in the security and care of the car and will do nothing to jeopardise any and all insurance cover. In the event of an insurance claim being declined due to a failing on the Customers behalf the Customer agrees to accept full responsibility for the full cost of repairing any damage and for any losses to this car or other people’s property arising.
      • In the event of damage or theft caused to the car or other parties property, the Customer agrees to accept full responsibility and will be liable for the lesser of Grimmer Motors excess costs of $1500 if over 25, $2000 if 21 to 25 (cars loaned at our discretion), or the cost to repair or replace the car.
      • Any damage or mechanical problem must be reported to Grimmer Motors immediately.
      • The Customer will not park the car in a situation where it is more likely to get vandalised, broken into or stolen, such as on the roadside overnight.
      • If the Customer gets a flat car battery due to leaving lights on, or any other electrical load on, then it is the Customers responsibility to pay for the battery charge, repair or call out fee.
      • If the Customer gets a speeding, parking ticket or any other form of fine while using this car, then the Customer agrees to immediately pay Grimmer Motors for the full amount of this speeding, parking ticket or other fine on proof of ticket, fine, or payment demand from Grimmer Motors.
      • This agreement is only with the signed Customer. The Customer will not let anyone else drive this car. If the Customer does allow someone else to drive this car, then the Customer will still be liable under this agreement as if they were driving this car.
      • Magnetic courtesy car signs attached to the car must not be removed, or tampered with.
      • If any one or more of the Terms and Conditions above are found to be unenforceable, then the rest of the Terms and Conditions still apply.


      Instructions for Returning the Courtesy Car to Grimmer Motors

      • When you drop your car off, please park under the canopy at Grimmer Motors.
      • We would appreciate it if you could leave your driver and passenger side car doors open together for at least 1 minute after your exit the car to “let fresh air through”.
      • Please wipe down all the common touch areas with an antibacterial cleaner that people would have touched. For example, door handles, steering wheel, gear selector, light and indicator switch, power window buttons and so on.
      • Please turn off the heating and air conditioning system, so air is not blowing on our mechanics when the key is turned on.
      • When a Grimmer Motors team member comes to inspect the courtesy car then for your safety and theirs please stand back from them at least 3 meters while they check the km’s, how clean the car is, and any damage to the car.
      • If any one or more of the Terms and Conditions above are found to be unenforceable, then the rest of the Terms and Conditions still apply.
