- First 10km are free, then 75c/Km. This covers repairs, servicing, Rego’s, WOF’s, insurance and petrol.
- Drivers must be over 21 and provide a full NZ driver’s licence unless otherwise agreed. A photo of both sides of the licence will be taken.
- The car may only be used within the Hamilton city area or within a 10 km radius from Grimmer Motors unless otherwise approved.
- No smoking, eating, drinking, or pets are allowed. A $50 cleaning fee applies if the car is returned dirty, smells, or contains evidence of these.
- The car must be returned on the agreed date, when notified the customer’s vehicle is ready, or immediately if requested. Recovery costs may be charged if not returned on time.
- The customer must take reasonable care of the car, including locking it, securing keys, using a steering lock if provided, and avoiding risky parking situations.
- If keys are lost, stolen, damaged, or locked in the car, the customer is responsible for all associated costs.
- The customer must not drive under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or impairing medication, and must not use a handheld phone while driving except as permitted by law.
- All occupants must wear seatbelts and children must use legally compliant restraints.
- The car must not be used recklessly, illegally, or antisocially, including speeding, racing, or burnouts.
- The car must not be used for towing, pushing vehicles, heavy loads, driver training, motorsport, rideshare, deliveries, or commercial use without approval.
- The car must not be driven on beaches, through floodwater, or off-road conditions that may cause damage.
- The car must be returned with the same fuel level. Refuelling costs and related charges will apply if not. Incorrect fuel or battery issues are the customer’s responsibility.
- All incidents, including accidents, theft, damage, warning lights, or breakdowns, must be reported immediately. No repairs or towing without approval unless required for safety.
- The customer is responsible for all fines, tickets, tolls, or penalties incurred while using the car.
- Only the signed customer may drive the car. The customer remains liable even if someone else drives it.
- Liability for damage or loss is limited to the lesser of insurance excess, being $1500 if over 25 or $2000 if aged 21–25, or the actual repair/replacement cost.
- Full liability applies for serious breaches, including unauthorised driver, intoxication, illegal use, misuse, failure to report issues, incorrect fuel, and similar breaches.
- The car must be returned with all keys, accessories, and items in similar condition, fair wear and tear excepted.
- Magnetic courtesy car signs must not be removed, damaged, or tampered with.
- Providing false or misleading information or failing to disclose licence issues is a serious breach.
- Overdue payments may incur recovery costs, legal fees, and 18% annual interest compounded monthly.
- If any term is unenforceable, the remaining terms still apply.
