Here at Grimmer Motors, we believe that bringing your car to a mechanic shouldn’t be bad for the environment around us. For this reason, we are very excited to be a finalist in this year’s Waikato Business Awards for Social and Environmental Sustainability.

Our achievement as finalists for this category follows some major efforts from all of our team to reduce emissions and have a positive impact on the environment. Below are some of our most recent efforts:

1500 Native Trees Planted

For the past few years, we have been regularly donating trees to Trees for Survival – a New Zealand charity which works alongside schools to plant local trees throughout New Zealand.
We think that Trees for Survival is a great charity because not only do they plant trees, they also teach our youth important skills about conservation and caring for the environment.

Recycling of batteries, scrap metal and other materials

At Grimmer Motors, we believe it is important to dispose of waste correctly. For this reason, we take care in recycling batteries, metal and much more!
Any profit we make off recycling metals in donated directly to Trees for Survival, where it is used to fund the planting of several trees.

Investing in Hybrid/Electric Technologies

Recently, we have been spending a lot of time developing hybrid and electric diagnostic technologies. This allows us to provide the best services as more people are switching to cleaner driving options.

Eco-Friendly Cleaning

We use the cleanest, most eco-friendly materials when it comes to cleaning vehicles, as well as other items around the workshop. This allows us to offer our customers a fully eco-friendly car wash when they bring their car in for a service or repair (terms and conditions apply).

The final awards will be presented tonight (November 15th) at Claudelands Arena. Wish us the best of luck!

In the meantime, feel free to contact us if you have any questions about what we do.
