What are the problems?
The first hybrid version of the popular and compact Honda Jazz (also known as the Honda Fit) came out in Japan in 2010. The hybrid version has proved popular, and the newest Honda Jazz model is only available in hybrid form. There have been relatively few reports of problems with earlier Jazz hybrids. However some of the issues affecting the petrol Honda Jazz may also be relevant to hybrid model owners. As with any hybrid, be alert for signs that your hybrid battery needs attention or may need to be replaced.
Honda Jazz 2010 – 2015
Early reviews were positive about the hybrid version of this car, praising its practicality, sharp and responsive handling and good fuel economy. Complaints about the Honda Jazz 2011 petrol model included issues with interior accessories, and complaints about the gauge on the fuel tank potentially not being accurate. Drivers noted electrical issues with the 2012 and 2013 models, such as warning lights staying on. It’s a good idea to check your tire pressure regularly, ideally once a month. The manufacturer should specify ideal tire pressure for your vehicle (in the manual or on the tires/on the driver’s car door). If you can’t find this, the general rule is 30-32psi for your back tires, and 32-34psi for the front. You can test your tires yourself at your local garage.
Honda Jazz 2016– 2019
There were few complaints about the Honda Jazz hybrid in these years. Owners of the 2016 petrol model have reported an occasional loss of power while accelerating, and poor mileage. Drivers of the 2017 and 2018 models experienced problems with the tire pressure monitoring system, and misfires, as well as engine rattles.
